A self-lubricating slide bearing in an antifriction bearing system of a lift mast assembly on a forklift vehicle includes a hearing block holder welded to at least one member of separate pairs of nested slidably displaceable support members in the assembly. Two laterally spaced upstanding end walls of the holder are integrally joined to a base wall thereof by means of a thick web to define a fixed shelf for securably retaining one high-molecular weight plastic low-friction bearing block on one side of the web.
