Abstract From the Canadian patent

Adsorbents comprising amorphous silicas with effective average pore diameters of about 60 to about 5000 Angstroms are useful in processes for the removal of soaps and phospholipids (along with associated metal ions) from caustic treated or caustic refined glyceride oils.
