Abstract From the Canadian patent

1-?2-(phenylmethyl)phenyl? piperazine compounds of the formula (I):, (I), as well as their non-toxic acid addition salts are useful, as antidepressive agents. In this formula R1 is a hydrogen, atom, an alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms and a halogen atom. R2 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms, a halogen atom and alkoxy group having 1carbon atoms and R3 is a hydrogen atom or methyl group. A process for preparing these compounds comprises reaction of the corresponding 2-(phenylmethyl) aniline with a bis-(2laloethyl) amine.
