A method and apparatus is disclosed for accurately positioning a window glass panel within the frame of an automobile. The method consists of placing two spacer elements on the vehicle frame and setting the window glass against a support surface formed on the spacer elements. Caulking is placed upon the automobile frame around the window opening and the window glass is placed on the caulking. The spacer elements are adjustable so as to accommodate various manufacturing tolerances and still adequately support the window glass.
