A light color petroleum hydrocarbon resin including an aromatic hydrocarbon component useful for tackifying block copolymers is described which has a softening point of about 0°C to about 40°C a, number average molecular weight (Mn) of from 350 to 600 and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of from 1:1 to about 2Ø An adhesive comprising a copolymer and such resins.
