Abstract From the Canadian patent

PHN 11 139 16 31.10.1985, ABSTRACT:, "Method of manufacturing an optical fibre with a protective coating", A method of a device for manufacturing an optical fibre with a protective coating is described in which a device for cooling the fibre after drawing from the preform is used. The cooling device comprises in principle a forcedcooled double-walled tube (2). In the space enclosed by the inner tube (2B) through which the fibre to be cooled is passed, a gas is present which has good heat-transporting properties, for example, helium supplied via an inlet tube (3). Why it's free to use

  • Granted March 17, 1992. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended March 17, 2009.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
