Abstract From the Canadian patent

A heat exchanger useful for example in medical applications has a plurality of parallel abutting chan nels separated by a sheet through which heat is exchanged with the channel-defining walls preferably in line contact with the sheet and with sharp changes in direction rendering a generally serpentine flow pattern in each channel.
