A carton for a roll-type product which is dispensed by unrolling, withdrawing and separating a piece of the product from that remaining on the roll. The carton has a projection extending inwardly from each end wall, into the core of the product, to prevent the roll from being withdrawn from the carton during use. The end walls have an inner end flap with an orifice and an overlapping end flap with the projection hingedly attached to it and extending through the orifice. The projection has a central section which is generally triangular with the apex located distally of the hinge.
