The invention relates to a heavy duty pneumatic tire wherein the problem of the stone pick up is effectively suppressed. The tire comprises at least one zig-zag or straight circumferential groove and discontinuous platforms provided on the groove sidewall of the circumferential groove and protruding therefrom.
