Abstract From the Canadian patent

Process and Plant for Series Coating of Parts Coating defects may arise due to the tolerances with which the automobile bodies are transported by the conveying system into the spray box during the series coating e.g. of, motor vehicle bodies using lacquering robots. To solve this problem, the distance between at least one reference point and the automobile body is measured during an original coating operation and stored as a standard measured value. The corresponding distance is then measured each time during the subsequent series operation and compared to the standard measured value. The processing program can be corrected accordingly as a function of the deviations determined.
