Abstract The invention discloses a twin track servoing method and apparatus useful for vertical magnetic media recordings. Vertical magnetic media are those in which the magnetic vector in the medium is oriented perpendicular to the surface of the medium instead of lying laterally or longitudinally in the surface of the medium. There are two servo tracks of essentially constant and opposite magnetic polarity recorded on the vertical magnetic medium for each data channel on the medium.
