Esters of allyl-bicyclo2.2.1hept-5-ene-2-carboxylic acid and polymers thereof, Abstract, Compounds of the formula I (I), in which a is 1, 2 or 3, m is an integer from 2 to 20 R1, R2 and R3 independently of one another are hydrogen or methyl and R4 is an m-valent radical of a polyol after removal of m hydroxyl groups, can be thermally reacted to give crosslinked polymers having outstanding physical properties. The polymers are suitable especially as casting resins, matrix resins, adhesives, encapsulating resins in-, sulating materials for electronics and electrical engineering and in surface protection.
