Abstract From the Canadian patent

Diphosphonates of the general formula: ( I ), wherein R1 is methyl or n-propyl; R2 is isobutyl pentyl, nonyl or benzyl; as well as the pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof, may be used in the treatment or prophylaxis of disturbance or diseases of the calcium metabolism.
