A method for press-forming sheets having a substantially constant thickness on a double action press com-, prising disposing the sheet to be formed on a support (4) applying a first outer slide, or blank holder (1) on the, peripheral portion of the sheet (7) then applying a second, central slide (2) on the central portion of the sheet said, method further comprising forming the peripheral portion of the sheet by allowing it to slide under the blank holder by means of at least one active part (11) of the outer slide so as to compensate, in certain regions of the finished part, for the excess areas, with unchanged thickness of the initial sheet, relative to the volume to be formed and …
