A lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engines containing:, (a) mineral lubricating base oil and/or synthetic lubricating base oil, (b) a specified amount of at least one alkyl molybdenum dithiophosphate having secondary type alkyl groups and, (c) a specified amount of at least one alkyl zinc dithiophosphate having primary type alkyl groups; and an additive of the lubricating oil containing the above components (b) and (c) for use in internal combustion engines.
