A device for inserting a nasal tube through the nose into the oropharynx. The device includes an elongate collapsible sleeve to which is attached an elongate relatively slender arcuate member along a longitudinal dimension of the sleeve. A soft, blunt distal tip is formed on the arcuate member and juts beyond the distal end of the sleeve. Prior to insertion in the nasal cavity the distal, end of the sleeve is sealed. The device is inserted distal, tip first, through the nasal cavity and nasopharynx so that the distal tip extends into the oropharynx.
