This invention relates to brewing machines for producing tea and coffee. The prior art machines suffer from poor distribution of heated water over the coffee or tea. The brewing machine of this invention comprises a fresh-water container a, continuous-flow heater, an overflow device a filter-vessel, a, liquid container for filtrate and means for moving the aromatic, compound located in the filter-vessel relative to the flow of the water entering the filter-vessel. The means for moving the aromatic compound may comprise a mechanical vibrator which moves the filter vessel or a rotating agitator.
