A process is disclosed of the production of lube oil base stocks or blending stocks by the isomerization of waxes over isomerization catalysts containing a hydrogenating metal component on a fluorided alumina or material containing alumina, wherein said catalyst in its as introduced to waxy feed form is characterized by possessing (1) a hydrate level of 60 or less determined as the relative amount of hydrate represented by a peak in the X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern at 2.theta. = 5.66.ANG. when a hydrate level of 100 corresponds to the XRD peak height exhibited by a standard material constituting 0.6 wt% Pt on 150 m2/g ? alumina containing 7.2 wt% F wherein the fluorine has been deposited …

Why it's free to use
- Granted February 11, 1992. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended February 11, 2009.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
