Abstract From the Canadian patent

William R. Baker, Jerry D. Clark, Abstract Semisynthetic antibiotics with improved therapeutic properties made from erythromycin are disclosed. 11,12-Cyclic carbamates of erythromycin its, derivatives, and their salts and esters show superior in vitro antimicrobial activity and reduced hepatotoxicity compared to the parent compounds.
