Abstract From the Canadian patent

A solid fuel or log effect open gas fire comprises a plurality of refractory bodies shaped to resemble coals or logs arranged above a burner, the walls of the burner being of ceramic fibre material. The refractory bodies may also be of ceramic fibre material.
