Abstract From the Canadian patent

There is disclosed a needle removal and storage device to remove needles from hypodermic syringe assemblies and automatically receive and safely store the same within the device which includes a storage member closed at one end and open at the other end to receive used needles; and a top assembly disposed at the open end of the storage member having an opening to receive a needle and its hub portion. The top assembly includes a grasping device proportioned to receive the hub portion of the needle to be removed from a syringe the, grasping device being adaptable to constrict the opening when squeezed by a person holding the device and to grasp the needle hub for removal thereof from a …
