The invention relates to a new chemical compound which has been called rooperol and certain derivatives thereof of the general formula, in which the bond between carbons 4 and 5 is unsaturated and in which R1, R2, R3 and R4 may be hydrogen alkyl-, aryl-, aralkyl-, acyl-, halide hydroxyl, -NH2, -SH, amide or the like substituents where any group attached to the pentenyn chains will be considered as a substituent or both R1 and R2 taken together may be =O =S, =N-Y, (where Y = H or OH) or the like; A and/or B may be hydrogen or a substitutent group and preferably an alkylaryl- or aralkyl group which may include one or more oxygen, nitrogen, sulphur or other atoms in the carbon chain or cyclic …
