An aliphatic/aromatic copolyamide suitable for a, molding composition, has A) from greater than 30 to less than 100 mole % of aliphatic monomer units; and B) up to 70 mole of aromatic monomer units containing units derived from at least one member selected from the group consisting of 4,4'bis(4-aminophenoxy)diphenyl sulfone, 4,4'-bis(3-aminophenoxy)diphenyl sulfone, 4,4'-bis(4-aminophenoxy)benzophenone and, 4,4'-bis(3-aminophenoxy)benzophenone. The copolyamide has a higher glass transition temperature than comparable aliphatic polyamides and also has a high mechanical strength as well as a high impact strength.

Why it's free to use
- Granted December 24, 1991. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended December 24, 2008.
