Abstract From the Canadian patent

Postsurgical adhesion formation is inhibited by the topical administration to the site of surgical trauma of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug preferably, ibuprofen, suprofen, or tolmetin. The drug may be contained in a controlled release vehicle such as an absorbable polymer microsphere or a phospholipid vesicle.
