Abstract From the Canadian patent

A selective call paging receiver (10) for receiving analog voice information converts the analog information to digital information and stores the digital information in a memory (50) of the paging receiver. In a first embodiment the paging receiver (10) includes a hardware controlled decoder (14) and an audio producing module (64). The memory (50) is divided into a plurality of fixed storage areas to allow the decoder (14) to store a digitized voice message in one of the fixed storage area.
