A slant plate type compressor such as a wobble plate type refrigerant compressor is disclosed. The compressor includes a compressor housing having a cylinder block provided with a plurality of cylinders, and a crank chamber adjacent the cylinder block. A front end plate is attached on one end surface of the compressor housing. A cylinder head is formed on the other end surface of the compressor housing having a suction chamber and a discharge chamber. The suction chamber surrounds the discharge chamber.
