A structure of a tape cassette for use in recording/reproducing apparatus, wherein the space within which a pair of reels is housed is formed by first and second cassette halves which are mutually engaged to construct a casing of the tape cassette. A reel press spring having three or more mounting holes aligned roughly perpendicular to the longest axis of the half is attached to the internal surface of the first cassette half, with at least one of the mounting holes engaged with a mounting pin projecting from the inner surface of the first cassette half.
