Laser Module and Method of Coupling an Optical Fiber thereto, In a laser module (1) having an optical fiber coupled thereto, the heat sink is formed by a metal block (6) consisting of a base plate (11) with a support for the laser diode (7) and a mounting block (14) for fixing two separate holders (19, 20) for a fiber and sleeve (18). The latter passes through a relatively large opening of the mounting block (14) which is aligned to the laser diode (7).
