Sheet nails made in a metal strip and connected to each other in the strip via connecting bridges are oriented at an angle or perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the strip. The sheet nails have a profiled shank and a profiled head at one end as well, as an edge, a point or several laterally spaced points at the opposite end of the shank. The shank is connected to the head via a transition portion in the form of a gently curved bent portion. The head the shank, and the bent portion have preferably a uniform crosssectional shape.
