Abstract From the Canadian patent

An alarm switch of the manual call-point kind has a wall-mounted box with a front plate which may be pushed in to operate an alarm - for example a fire alarm. Instead of being made wholly of glass or other frangible material as formerly, the front plate is effective to break a frangible area against a stop. The frangible area is one of several so that the, switch may be reset by moving the stop relative to the frangible areas so that it cooperates with another when one frangible area has been broken.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted November 19, 1991. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended November 19, 2008.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
