The invention relates to a cyclohexane-1,3-dione derivative of the formula:, (I), where R1 is a fused ring system which consists of two aromatic or non-aromatic rings, each having 5 6 or 7, ring members, can contain not more than three heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of oxygen sulfur and, nitrogen, and can be unsubstituted or substituted by C1-C3-alkyl, C1-C3-alkoxy, C1-C3-alkylthio or halogen with the proviso that one or both of the rings contain a heteroatom if both rings are non-aromatic R2 is hydrogen, methoxycarbonyl, ethoxycarbonyl methyl or cyano, R3 is, C1-C4-alkyl and R4 is C1-C3-alkyl C3-C4-alkenyl, C3-C4-, haloalkenyl containing 1 to 3 halogen substituents or, …
