A flexible, impermeable, universally chemically resistant composite structure which may be fabricated into protective clothing useful, for example in the, handling and clean up of hazardous chemicals is provided for, which composite structure comprises a fabric substrate , and thermally melt-bonded on both sides thereof, a coated film , which coated film comprises a PTFE film having a thermoplastic fluoropolymer coating on both sides thereof.
