In a mass flow meter based on the Coriolis principle two, straight measuring tubes (2) are driven in opposite senses with the aid of an oscillation generator (19). From the oscillations, sensors (20, 21) derive measuring signals from which the flow can be determined. The measuring tubes (2) have a different bending strength in two perpendicular axial planes. In particular, they are stiffened perpendicular to the principal axial plane defined by their axes for, example by means of a fin (27). By means of individual masses, the natural frequency of at least the first mechanical harmonic of the measuring tubes (2) is changed so that it differs from the natural frequency of the mechanical …

Why it's free to use
- Granted October 15, 1991. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended October 15, 2008.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
