Abstract From the Canadian patent

A gas cleaning apparatus through which a contaminated, medium is caused to pass and into which there is introduced an absorbent capable of reacting with the contaminants carried by the medium, comprising means for mixing the contaminated medium with the absorbent. The apparatus comprises wall sections forming part of a contact reactor chamber into which a finely divided liquid or liquid suspension is introduced. Said wall sections are heated by the flow of the contaminated medium being introduced tangentially into a space surrounding said contact reactor chamber.
