Abstract From the Canadian patent

A system of tuned response printing in which toners are tuned to match a pre-selected characteristic of electromagnetic energy or other agent produced by a controllable agent source. When a toner is exposed to that pre-selected characteristic of the agent, it imparts its toning feature to the substrate. The characteristic of the agent from the controllable source functions in selecting the specific type of toner to be printed.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted July 2, 1991. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended July 2, 2008.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
