Abstract From the Canadian patent

A collection container for body fluids includes a bag (16) having walls (68,70) constrained for movement with relatively stiff and flexible sheet members (78,80). A squeezing force applied to the side edges (85,87) of the members causes them to bend outwardly thereby expanding the bag. A holder (18) is provided to maintain the bag in the expanded condition. The bag is intended for collection & reinfusion of blood to the same patient.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted June 11, 1991. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended June 11, 2008.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
