Abstract of the Disclosure A nutation damping system for a dual-spin satellite is provided by tilting the rotation axis of the spacecraft's spinning body in one direction away from the normal spin axis of the satellite, and a half nutation period later tilting the axis in the opposite direction back to the normal axis. The one direction of tilting is toward the angular momentum vector component that is transverse to the spinning body's spin axis.
