Apparatus for supplying bulk material to at least one consumer at a controlled rate by means of a rotating cylinder disposed below a supply bin, wherein the supply bin has an inclined rear wall with a lower edge which is disposed at a rear side of the cylinder at a contact point or, viewed in the direction of rotation above a contact, point of a tangent with the cylinder the tangent being, disposed at an angle of repose of the bulk material to the cylinder. The supply bin has also a front wall provided with an outlet opening below the lower edge of front wall for discharging a stream of bulk material onto the cylinder.
