Abstract From the Canadian patent

Wheel Rim for a Pneumatic Tyre A one piece wheel rim for a pneumatic tyre in which one tyre retaining flange has a reduced height portion (9) having a length of .25 to .5 times the bead seat circumference and the reduced height being such that the flange height, measured from the heel point (HP) is in the range of 0.15 to 0.6 times the height of the remainder of the flange to allow tyre fitting removal, The assembly provides a wheel rim having much increased brake space inside the wheel rim because it is not necessary to have the conventional tyre fitting well and a fitting well of very much reduced or indeed in some cases zero depth, may be used.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted February 26, 1991. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended February 26, 2008.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
