57) Abstract of the Disclosure:, Method and device in the press section of a paper machine, in particular in a so-called closed press section provided with a smooth-faced press roll (10), for the control of the detaching of the paper web from the said press roll (10). In the method and by means of the device, the temperature of the face (10') of the said smooth-faced press roll (10) is adjusted.
