Open the CIPO recordAbstract From the Canadian patent
A wavelength-division multiplex transmission system includes an optical multiplexer for multiplexing optical signals having different wavelengths into a wavelength-division multiplexed optical signal. Also included are optical amplifiers for amplifying, as a whole, the wavelength-division multiplexed optical signal supplied from the optical multiplexer and an optical, filter for suppressing undesired spectra of an output optical signal supplied from the optical amplifiers. The system removes spontaneous emission noise produced in the amplifiers.

Why it's free to use
- Granted January 22, 1991. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 22, 2008.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
