Using a shared profiler, a multiple actuator print drive assembly operates in open loop mode for relatively high performance at very low system cost. A single shared ROM-based control signal profiler provides a tailored current control profile presented as a clocked series of 1's (long pulse) followed by a pattern of groups of 0's followed by groups of 1's (short pulses). The active components integrate the 1's and 0's into the desired actuator current profile. For each actuator position there is a simple actuator driver. The driver is a single-transistor driver or dual-transistor half-bridge, driver with appropriate passive devices. Simple selection logic gates the coil control profile …

Why it's free to use
- Granted June 5, 1990. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended June 5, 2007.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
