A description is given of a method for controlling electrostatic separation of ground chemically con-, ditioned and triboelectrically charged crude potassium salts in electrostatic free-fall separators and of an, apparatus for the implementation of this method accord-, ing to which the inclination of the separating tongues is controlled, by a process-control computer as a function, of the K2O content of the residue occurring in the vicinity of the negative separating electrodes the yields of, K2O and NaCl, and the amount of intermediate material arising.
