A thermally developable photosensitive material containing (a) at least one organic silver compound (b) at, least one reducing agent, for said organic silver compound (c) at least one photosensitive silver halide and (d) at, least one indan or tetralin derivative having at least two carboxyl groups. The indan and tetralin derivatives operate to suppress thermal fog.
