Abstract From the Canadian patent

Two morphologically homogeneous forms of Famotidine chemical name: N-sulfamoyl-3-(2-guanidinothiazole-4-yl-methylthio)-propionamidine are disclosed namely form "A" and form "B". The two separate forms are prepared by selective crystallization or precipitation. Form "A" is particularly useful in capsulated form while, form "B" is well adapted to use in tabletted form.
