of Disclosure, A matrix and its deployment is described which when arranged as a dry or, wetted absorbent in a respirator cartridge or airscrubbing equipment will be, more efective than existing systems because of a lower air pressure drop. In arrangement #1 the absorbent filter material is manufactured in long tubelike channels of equal diameter, running parallel to each other and in layers filling the canister, pointing with their openinqs into the airflow.
