A load handling vehicle equipped with a load handling device comprises a pair of reinforcing frames attached to opposite sides of the vehicle body a steering, panel, a front cover covering the space under the panel from the front and a protective device covering the operator's seat and including a pair of opposite front posts connected to the frames in front of the seat. Each of the front posts comprises a lower post member extending upright from the frame and positioned in the vicinity of the front cover, and an upper post member removably attached to the lower post member.
