Improvements in Centrifugal Couplings. A coupling (10) has input (16) and output (18) members interconnected by two-link (2,3) coupling elements (A,B,C) which are flexible in the plane of rotation by centrifugal force acting on them as the coupling (10) rotates and by the torque transmitted. The coupling is soft over a range of speeds and torques. The input member (16) is constructed from two metal spinnings (28,30) welded together to form a housing which supports the pivot (X) of each coupling element at both ends. Thus the input member is much lighter. The output member (18) is similarly constructed with bushes (47a,b) welded on to support the pivot (Y) also at both ends. The output …

Why it's free to use
- Granted January 30, 1990. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 30, 2007.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
