A machine for planing lengths of timber comprises mutually perpendicular spindles for cutter blocks. The spindle carrying the cutter block extends below a machine bed. The spindle carrying the cutter block extends across the bed. A conveyor is provided for feeding a workpiece past the cutter blocks at a lower level than the bed. In a modification the spindle carrying the cutter block drives a cutter block which is offset from the spindle itself.

- Granted January 30, 1990. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 30, 2007.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
