Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention concerns a grinding machine for wet grinding the rolls of flat rolling works. The grinding machine contains an especially accurate measuring device for measuring diameter changes, which measures the diameter change of the roll in a non-contacting manner during the grinding process at exactly the area being ground. This takes place with the help of a holder having an air jet fixed to it. The air jet has a spacing of about 0.2 mm to the surface of the roll. As soon as this spacing is slightly changed the changed pressure head works on a piston which operates to return the spacing to the desired value. Why it's free to use

  • Granted January 30, 1990. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 30, 2007.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
